Question - For this discussion, you are being asked to apply #1 (knowledge gathering) from the Policy Framework as you develop a budget based on the time period of the Great Depression using the following:

In 1928, your family of six income is $2,500.  This is above the medium income of $1,400.

After the Great Depression (GD), your income drops to $500 annually.

Develop a monthly budget comparing the two budgets and decide what you need to cut in order to make your budget after the GD.  Research average incomes before and after the GD (example resource: Prices and Wages by Decade: 1920-1929).

1. Now consider the current

2. Discuss how the process was for you. Was it easy? Was it hard? Why?

3. What specific things did you learn? Did this change your perspective and understanding of the Great Depression and poverty?

4. Were there any specific policies that you felt impacted your rationale to make certain cuts in your family budget?
