In addition, think deeply about the horrific hurricane damage in the Florida Panhandle. People were told that it was a mandatory evacuation- but still stayed and put their lives in extreme danger. We buy insurance to protect us from the 100-year floods, earthquakes, etc. We employ actuaries to predict how long we will live, what the returns should be for adequate returns on pension plans............................
