Pain Assessment Worksheet
Pain is a sensation that affects all aspects of a person's life. Pain may indicate a problem that is immediately life-threatening. Pain impairs healing and quality of life. Nurses play a key role in the identification and treatment of pain. Competent assessment and treatment of pain is a nurses' professional and ethical responsibility. Failure to adequately assess and treat pain may not only compromise your patients' lives, but it could also destroy your career.
Question 1. Review the 'Initial Pain Assessment Tool' provided in the 'Pain Tools' folder. Explain why you think that each of the 1 questions/assessments were included in the tool.
