Setting: The Television set was invented in the late 1930's, but they were expensive and big (about the size of a juke box with a screen about the surface area of a medium size square plate). This innovation will only impact society once It became affordable and practical (bigger screen). Such refinement will occur in the late 1940s.

In 1950, 20% of all Americans will own a TV set. By 1960, 87% of the American population will own a TV set. Such a huge shift in American habits will impact American society dramatically.

Question: What sort of impact did the infusion of Television have on American society in the 1950s and how does it affect us today? Is America a better place because of TV or is it more of a negative? Your opinion.
