Question: Give a critical analysis of the case, including what social justice issues are present with the client and in this situation?

Troy is a 19-year-old single African-American male who was brought in by police on an immediate detention after he was found lying outside in the cold, late at night, with no shirt on, and near the road. He was not unconscious but when a neighbor asked what he was doing and why he didn't have a shirt on, he just kept staring up at the sky with wide eyes. Out of concern, the neighbor called the police, who brought him into the ER. Troy would not answer very many questions in assessment. However, when he did speak, he was polite and cooperative. At one point, he could not be around televisions because of "the messages." Troy would not elaborate further when asked what that means. Troy's mother, Lashelle, says Troy has not "been himself" for the past 6-9 months. She asked him to move out of her house about 6 months ago after he was aggressive with her new husband in their home. Troy now lives with his aunt. She says that, even a year ago, Troy was "your average teenage boy that cared a lot about his appearance, his clothes, and sneakers." Lashelle says now she has to remind Troy to shower and to feed himself. He doesn't interact much with friends anymore either. Upon presentation, Troy is guarded, affect is flat, thought content positive for delusional activity, and insight is poor.
