Question: I would like to add a few comments about this topic because of the importance that some of the roles play as an HR professional. Part of the HR professional is about being a protector. I say this because HR professionals are there to protect the interests of the company and its employees confidential information. Another role is to be a teacher and example for developing the skills necessary to succeed within the company and for the future. If you think about all the various roles mentioned throughout this course, all the roles fit into these main categories. Some people say that not everyone can be an HR professional because of the various competencies required; however, I disagree with many of those people because I believe that everyone has the skills necessary to be successful in this type of position, which takes a little direction and training in the beginning to fully excel. What do you think are some of the skills that you would be good at right now and what skills do you feel need to be developed more? Why?
