Case: A multi-agency community partnership called the Resource Bus brings the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas (DOH-Pinellas) and the St. Petersburg Police Department together to share information and provide services to various areas of St. Petersburg during the first week of every month.
St. Petersburg Police Department, St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department, Healthy St. Pete, DOH-Pinellas, and the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg, currently work together to provide public health and safety resource information to residents. Additional services include HIV testing provided by Help Us Help U, blood pressure and diabetes screenings provided by BayCare Health Community Nursing among others. (All services subject to availability).
The overall goal of the program is to improve access to health care services, provide social support, reduce cultural and linguistic barriers, and act as a link to other valuable community programs.
