Ultimately, Parks was acquitted when he raised the defence of non-insane automatism. However, more recent cases, like Luedecke, suggest that if tried today Parks would have to use NCRMD as a defence instead. In your post consider the condition of sleepwalking. Do you think this should be a defence to a criminal offence? And if so, how should we deal with it?
