The Bugatti Veyron is the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top-speed of 431 km/h! At such high speeds, the rate of energy released by the combustion of fuel is approximately 2.25 MW, but only 1/3 of this energy is used to actually power the car. The rest is lost in heat, which needs to be dissipated (removed) by the means of 10 radiators! Assume the car is moving at top speed and treat the engine as a \radiator" by assuming the change in temperature of the air going through the engine to be the same as the change in temperature of the air going through any of the radiators.

(a) What is the rate of heat transferred by the radiators?

(b) If the air entering the heat exchangers (radiators) of the car is at 17C and the air leaving the radiators is at 107C, what should be the mass flow rate and the volumetric flow rate of air through the radiators of the car?

(c) What should be the total cross sectional area of the air intakes (for the radiators) if the velocity of the air (normal to the inlet area) is equal to the speed of the car?

(d) Estimate the rate of total entropy generation.
