Mrs. Rivers is a 40 year old gravida 1 at 28 weeks gestation who presents to the doctor's office for a scheduled visit. Mrs. Rivers has a past medical history of diabetes (type 2). She stated that she has felt fine until 2 days ago; she noticed swelling in her hands, feet, and face. She is complaining of a frontal headache that started yesterday. Mrs. Rivers did take Tylenol, but has not had any relief. She also asked the nurse about her insulin needs during pregnancy, because she forgets to take her insulin at times.
