Please answer to my peer discussion and ask one question. thank you.
What sexually transmitted virus is involved?
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the virus involved. This virus spreads through vaginal, oral, or anal sex, resulting in genital lesions and other cancer types. Some HPV viruses can be transmitted during birth from the mother to the infant, therefore, causing genital or respiratory system infections. HPV has no cure, but safe and effective vaccinations are recommended for ages 11 and 12.
How should the physician treat the lesions?
HPV virus has no cure, but the lesions often resolve independently without treatment. If not, some medications can be applied to the affected area to remove the lesions. They include over-the-counter salicylic acids. Prescribed medications include imiquimod, podofilox, podophyllin, and trichloroacetic acid. Also, other surgical interventions may be applied. That includes cryotherapy, laser therapy, and electrocautery.
