Problem

Jessica is 17 years old and homeless. She ran away from home due to sexual abuse by her mother's boyfriend. Jessica has been on the streets for two years. She is very bright and liked school, however, she dropped out last year because she had to earn a living to survive. Jessica does a variety of things to support herself. Sometimes she prostitutes or sells drugs and she frequently steals things she knows she can sell on the street or pawn. Jessica usually hangs with a group of teens in the park and she often sleeps in abandoned buildings or under bridges. She does not like to go to shelters because she does not trust adults as they have tried to make her return home in the past. Jessica's dream is to go back to school and become a veterinarian. She knows that when she turns 21 she can work in a bar and "make a lot of money". She then plans to get her own place and go back to school.
