Case Study: For this discussion, I want you to intentionally break a gender rule. This can be done in a big way or a small, subtle way. For example, you could causally insert a comment into a conversation that you are thinking about shaving your legs or not shaving your legs (depending on your gender identity/ current gender performance). You can add a built-in account or leave an account out.

Question: And then I want you to discuss the following with your group:

1) What rule did you break, how did you break it?

2) Did you use an account? Do you think the use or not use of an account impacted the way others reacted to your rule breaking?

3) Did you attract policing? Remember that policing can be both cruel and kind or out of concern. If you did encounter gender policing, what was it like? How did it feel to be policed?
