HRIS to ensure that the newcomers are paid their basic salaries and that they receive the benefits agreed to as per their contracts. Another colleague, Sarah, also works in the HR section. She is the liaison between the team responsible for changes to the HRIS, the HR staff and other users of the HRIS in the organisation and she has to ensure that the monthly time and attendance reports are generated on the HRIS and are made available automatically to the various line managers and that this information is fed into the payroll system for shift workers. She has to explain to the developers of the compensation and benefits module what the need is after she has evaluated this properly and determined exactly what should be contained in the reports and how the time and attendance information should be fed into the payroll module to calculate payment of these employees.
