Actions for 'Using Management Consultants to Diagnose and Implement Change'

Consultants generally play a role in the change process with larger organizations, anything from developing the organizational strategy, to the ensuring that the change goes smoothly, to reducing the resistance to change.

Does it make sense to hire a consultant to help an organization through the change process, and if so under what circumstances? What role(s) could they play? What if any are the benefits?

If you have experienced using an outside consultant, provide insight on your experience, i.e., was it beneficial, that they provide good value, was a waste of money. If you do not have experience with consultants, do some research about how others have used consultants and their "benefits."

Be sure to explain your answer thoroughly, and use relevant examples and references either from the course or additional resources.
