Be sure to explain how you have evolved to this new understanding of what research methods is and how it applies to your discipline.

2. Think about the different data collection strategies covered in this module.

  • Are any of the data collection strategies commonly used in your field? (Healthcare)
  • Identify a data collection strategy that is not commonly used in your field (Healthcare). Discuss either why it is not a good fit or make a brief case as to why professionals in your field should start using it.
  • How might you be able to use what you learned in this module in your life, personally and/or professionally?

Find two studies from your discipline or related to your research topic (Healthcare) that demonstrate a different type of sampling technique (e.g., random sampling, stratified random sampling, convenience sampling, quota sampling, etc.).

Each note should be composed of four parts:

  1. Notes: This includes date, time, place, and any other relevant details you think need to be included about where you were when you were completing your entries.
  2. Description: This is a description of everything observed or that can be remembered. You can include images, drawings, etc. in this section.
  3. Analysis: Discuss the specific facts and details of your observation that directly relate to the course concept that the entry is covering.
  4. Reflection: This is where you note your personal thoughts based on your analysis and note any new questions that arise from your observations
