You've just been hired as a consultant to help AJAX Inc (public company) implement an internal hotline to allow report concerns of fraud or misconduct. AJAX was recently fined by the DOJ for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. They paid bribes to government officials in Brazil.

Your initial meeting is with the Audit Committee and Bill Lilly, General Counsel of AJAX. During the meeting they ask the following questions. Respond to them in a 4 page memo.

1. What is the importance of a whistleblower and why is it so important that we implement a hotline?
