Jorge is a 14-year-old, Latino male who resides with his mother, father, and two younger sisters . Jorge attends public school in the 9th grade. Jorge teachers have reached out to the school social worker with concerns regarding behaviors and statements he has made in classes and to his peers. The teachers report for the past 2 weeks, Jorge has had trouble remaining seated, is often pacing around the room and hallways, and has been mumbling under his breath. The teachers are reporting his grades are "slipping" and he is unfocused, making careless mistakes, and his desk is a mess.
Jorge has always been a good student who is well groomed; however, in the past 3 weeks he has been coming to school disheveled and unkempt. Jorge has always been a quiet student, but in recent weeks has become increasingly withdrawn and has ceased engaging in conversations or acknowledging others. He is often observed looking around the classroom and checking behind corners when walking in the hallways.
