Normal medications include Metformin 500 mg bid, Furosemide 20 mg once daily, Ramipril 2.5 mg once daily, and ASA 81 mg once daily. He is 5' 6", 175 lbs. and his BMI is 28. His weight was 10 lbs. heavier 30 days ago. He arrives in the preoperative unit one hour before the scheduled surgery time. Baseline blood pressure was 120/80 mmHg. He has an advance directive and NKDA. The surgeon spoke to him 1 hour ago to review the surgical procedure and let the patient know that the original surgical time will be delayed due to an earlier unexpected delay.
