The William Wrigley Jr. Company is the world's largest maker of chewing gum. The CEO is William Wrigley, Jr., the son of the founder. Wrigley has two classes of shares: common and class B stock. In 1995, there were 91.2 million shares of common stock outstanding, entitled to one vote per share; there were also 25.1 million shares of class B stock outstanding with 10 votes per share. The Wrigley family owns directly or through trusts about 22.1 million shares of common stock and about 12.9 million shares of class B stock.
