Infant developmental milestones are often captured using categories of gross motor skills (controlling the head, sitting, crawling etc.), Fine motor skills (ability to use finger and thumb to grab something, using a fork, pushing a button), Sensory (seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting), Language acquisition (starting to make sounds, learning to say words and demonstrating understanding of what others are saying), Social skills (the ability to interact, respond to and play with family members and other children).
