Children learn language development using operant conditioning. Another way to put it is that children realize rewards for making use of language in a manner that is functional. Operant conditioning (in some instances referred to as instrumental conditioning) is a learning method that is applied utilizing rewards or punishments for conduct. Through operant conditioning, a link between behavior or consequence for that specified behavior is realized. It is worth mentioning that B. F. Skinner. A famous psychologist also seconded the idea that nurture plays a huge role in children's language development. What parents should do is pronounce words correctly and not as the children do it; upon correct pronunciation, parents should reward children. In addition to that, parents should be aware of how children learn using prompting, imitation of others when they speak and shaping.
