Read but do not respond to Questions 2 and 3 under WRITING STRATEGIES, p. 106. In Questions 2 and 3, the authors of our textbook are indicating that Perry's essay is not organized very effectively. Also note that the brief introduction to Perry's essay by our textbook authors (at the top of p. 104) correctly states that the type of essay Perry presents involves "writing down observations then analyzing these observations for insight." Did you notice, however, that Perry's essay is heavy on observation but light on analysis?
