Complex Health Alterations 1 My ocardial Infarction Case Study:

Scenario: Richard Williams is a 72-year-old man who is admitted through the Emergency Department (ED) with complaints of chest pain and nausea. Mr. Williams has a history of a previous inferior wall myocardial infarction three years ago. At that time, a stent was placed to open up the blocked artery. He has generally been without symptoms since that time and has regular appointments with his cardiologist. Prior to coming to the ED, Mr. Williams took a total of three sublingual Nitroglycerine tablets without relief of the pain. His wife phoned 911 and he was brought to the ED via ambulance. During transport, an electrocardiogram was taken and transmitted to the ED physician. It revealed an acute ST elevation in the inferior leads was present. Mr. Williams' vital signs were stable during transport: T 98.4, BP 138/82, HR 88, R 16. Make sure that your answers are specific to the patient scenario given.
