5-How does FDR persuade Congress and the country to go to war? What is the tone of the speech? What is some of the vocabulary he uses to convince the nation? Was he successful?
6-Does FDR think the United States will be victorious in this war effort? What is his logic and reasoning? Do you think he presents a fair situation of the event?
7-Is FDR convincing the consequences of going to war with Japan worth the terms and outcome? Do you think he presented an effective justification?
8- How did the United States treat Japan after the war? How did the United States assist Japan and why (See the link to the Office of Historian)
9-Why is this FDR's speech a primary source?
1. Analyze the document for its relationship to the specific historical themes that were going on in the United States at that time. In other words, how does a document fit within the historical time-frame being studied?
2. What might you be able to infer about the subjects of the document? Economic status? Educational status? Pride? Provide examples from the document to validate your answer. Also, in your response, tell me what infer means and why your response is an inference.
