Nucleus Structure: a double membrane bound eukaryotic organelle containing the chromatin (supercoiled DNA) Effect if lost: the cell would not be able to replicate.

Mitochondria: a double membrane bound eukaryotic organelle that also contains DNA and is responsible for energy .Effect if lost: the cell would not be able to produce energy. Do you think the cell can function normally and properly if an organelle is lost. Can it regenerate or copy that organelle to take over its functions? What else would cell not be able to do if the nucleus was removed? What other cellular functions does the nucleus control?
