To demonstrate your understanding of these laws, this assessment will require you to focus on two pieces of cybersecurity legislation that we've discussed in the course.

Select two pieces of cybersecurity-related legislation that you've studied during this course. Create Your Tables:
For each piece of legislation, create a table.

1. NU Protection Act 2018: This Act is the UK's implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It governs the processing of personal data and requires organizations to implement appropriate security measures to protect data against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage.
2. Network and Information Systems Regulations 2018 (NIS Regulations): These regulations implement the EU Network and Information Systems Directive in the UK. They require operators of essential services and digital service providers to take appropriate and proportionate security measures to manage risks to their network and information systems. They must also notify the relevant authorities about serious incidents.
3. Computer Misuse Act 1990: This Act makes it illegal to access or modify data stored on a computer without permission. It covers offenses such as unauthorized access to computer materials, unauthorized access with intent to commit further offenses, and unauthorized modification of data.
4. Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (IPA): Also known as the "Snooper's Charter,' this Act provides the legal framework for the use of covert surveillance by intelligence and law enforcement agencies. It includes provisions for the collection of communications data, interception of communications, and equipment interference for both national security purposes and to detect and prevent serious crime.
5. The Official Secrets Act 1989
A series of legislative acts designed to protect state secrets and national security by prohibiting the disclosure of official government information. These acts make it a crime to share classified information without authorization, and this applies to both government employees and the general public.
