Two induction motors and one synchronous motor are fed fromthe same 3-phase, 480V bus. The following data pertains to the 3motors:
Induction motor #1: 480V, 120 hp output, PF=0.78 lag,efficiency = 82%
Induction motor #2: 480V, 100 hp output, PF=0.80 lag,efficiency = 80%
Synchronous motor: 480V, 260 hp output, PF=1.0, efficiency =92%
The synchronous motor is operating at 90% of it's outputrating. What must the power factor of the synchronous motor beadjusted to so that the overall power factor of the system is 0.97lagging?
