Problem: Throughout history, people have been talking about the "corrupting" influences of music on teenagers. In the 1920s, people feared the "frenzied rhythms" of Jazz music would result in a certain type of lifestyle and lead to drinking, dancing, and lowered moral standards. In the 1990s, they feared what grunge and heavy metal would do to teenagers. One thing we know for sure is that musical preference tends to be drastically different between teens and adults. What music do adolescents today gravitate towards? Share a link to a popular song and analyze the themes of the song. Why do you think teens are drawn to it?
