Question: The assignment is to write an analytical expository essay of 1000-1200 words using one of the six topics listed below. Any topic that you chose requires you to have a critical and unique perspective which approaches the topic in a way that is rooted in public resonance. This means that your writing should be based in an assertion you are making but your reader should also be able to connect to your essay. Always strive to focus on communicating the significance of the point you are trying to make.
Remember to use the steps of the Writing Process as you construct your essay. Successful essays will focus on a particular analytical point expressed in a thesis statement. Construct this thesis statement then make an outline of the essay's format consisting of topic sentences that develop the thesis statement and specific supporting details you are going to include in your essay. Once you have organized the material you want to include in your paper begin to write your first draft.
Your essay should have an interesting introduction that will give just enough background for the reader. All of your body paragraphs should have clear topic sentences and introduce your idea for that paragraph. Then, make sure you have enough detail and concrete evidence to support your ideas. You should have a conclusion that would finish your thoughts. Make sure you use good transitions that will connect your ideas and the elements of the essay.
Work to eliminate 1st person plural and 2nd person language, this includes "us, our, ours, we, you, your". Also stay away from contractions, for example, don't should be written out as do not. Make sure you check your spelling, punctuation, and grammar. This is writing class and the rules of formal language apply. There is to be NO use of text language in any draft of your essays. If I come across this I will immediately stop reading and commenting and you will not receive any further instructor feedback. This type of language is perfectly acceptable for texting and that is where it will STAY!!!
The main thing you have to do is show analysis and good critical thinking, have a clear thesis, good topic sentences, plenty of detail and support, good introduction and conclusion, and keep the interest of the reader.

What mundane object is symbolically, systematically fused to your identity?
