Question: The company I chose for topic one was Netflix. Their current organizational structure is a unitary organizational structure. "Involves a hierarchy for maintaining executive control and direction throughout the organization. However, this corporate structure is relatively flat compared to many businesses."(Anderson, 2019) This unique structure reduces the need to escalate issues, and manage the organization effectively and efficiently. They have functional groups, geographical divisions, and product based divisions, which allow the company to face any external factors within these groups or divisions and allow their ethical stance to remain constant across all regions. This is a key piece to their success, as they are a global organization, and ethical factors can vary based on the region. For instance, what movies that are allowed in the US, are not allowed in China, and so their geographical divisions allow the company to still be purchased in both but manage the content that is being presented to each region.
