This question has four indiviudal parts and I need a clear explanations, equations, and reasoning behind each answer.
A. We wish to coat flat glass (n=1.50) with a transparent material (n=1.25) so that reflection of light at wavelength 600nm is eliminated by interference. What minimum thickness can the coating have to do this?
B. In a double-slit experiment, the slits are separated by a distance equal to 100 times the wavelength of the light passing through the slits. The fringes are observed on a screen 50cm from the slit. What is the distance between the central maximum and an adjacent maximum?
C. The pupil of a person's eye has a diameter of 5.00mm. How far apart must two small objects be if their images are just resolved when they are 250mm from the eye and illuminated with light of wavelength 500nm?
D. Light of wavelength 633nm is incident on a narrow slit. The angle between the first diffraction minimum on one side of the central maximum and the first minimum on the other side is 1.2 degrees. What is the width of the slit?
