Question: Explain responses to the following questions you may ask yourself in 500 words
Discussion: Challenging Skills
Steps
1. Write your own post - You post your response to the discussion questions at least five days prior to the due date. It is important that you post early, so that your classmates have time to read and respond.
2. Respond to other posts - You read your peers' postings and then respond, by name, to at least two students, at least five days prior to the due date. This second step is very important as it gets the conversation started.
o In these two responses, please include one question, so that your peers can respond (this will allow for Step #3).
3. Answer your peers' questions. You answer the questions that are posed to you by at least two classmates in Step #2, by the due date. Ensure that you are including the names of the classmates (peers) whose questions you are answering, in approximately 100 words.
Important: Online discussions are only successful when students choose to participate fully. Keep in mind that these discussions are an important opportunity for you to learn from each other. Please proofread your submissions for correct grammar and sentence structure prior to submitting.
For this discussion, take a moment to read the following situation and reflect on the three questions that follow.
A man, 25, is talking with a fellow trainee outside the group: "In yesterday's group session I was watching Leonard (the trainer) give Siddi feedback. He does it very well, but I was also saying to myself, ‘Why isn't he that helpful and that careful with me?' I want the same kind of feedback, but he doesn't say much to me at all. I'm as active as anyone else in the group. I volunteer for the demonstrations in front of the group. I don't know why he passes me by. Is all of this just my imagination?"
Explain responses to the following questions you may ask yourself in 500 words:
1. What mind-sets and related behaviour might be challenged here?
2. What would some helpful new perspectives look like?
3. What actions might such a perspective lead to?
