John a 54-year-old man, has a significant depressive condition. He comes to visit you because he wants to hear another point of view. James claims he has tried practically every medication and has had no relief. He claims that his previous psychiatric practitioner prescribed Escitalopram (Lexapro) 40mg once a day, and he is still sad. Isolation, depression, poor hygiene, napping, and overeating are among James' symptoms. When you examine him, you discover that he has been taking the following drugs without success: Fluoxetine (Prozac), Sertraline (Zoloft), and Venlafaxine (Effexor).
