The essay by Donald Marquis provides an argument against abortion based on the loss to the fetus of its' future. On the surface, causing loss of future would appear to have the same meaning as killing, but Marquis defines it differently; and that is what makes his argument a compelling one. Why do you think he makes a distinction between the two terms?
