1. Prospectus:
The prospectus is the first portion of a three part project. The best way to define a prospectus is it is a document that gives some general direction about the information you need to investigate and the areas you'll be looking into for a topic.
Topic: This three-part project is all about examining how communication works in a business field workplace. In preparing for this assignment, think about how professionals within the business career field communicate with other employees, supervisors, customers/clients, etc. Here are some (but not limited to) of the questions you should seek to do research on:
- Who are the audiences a person in your chosen field will communicate with(customers/clients, co-workers, supervisors, etc)?
- What methods are used to communicate (email, instant messaging, videoconferencing, websites, face to face, etc)?
- What type of impact has technology had on communication in your field?
- What makes for effective communication in your field?
- Are there any potential communications problems to consider?
More specifically for this first part, it is basically a short 1-2 page paper indicating what field (business field) you are doing research on, who you will need to interview, and what other sources you can consult to answer some of the research questions above. In addition, you will discuss how you plan to organize your report and the general plan for your presentation. This portion is due Seminar 2 Saturday Oct 1 at 9pm ET.
