  1. Are you comparing groups or time points? Or just examining a relationship?
  2. What type of experimental design is it?
  3. At what level of measurement are the data (nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio)?
  4. If there is a true IV, how many levels does it have?
  5. If it is an experimental design, is it between-subjects or within-subjects?

The following answers may be used more than once.

 a. Chi-square

b. Correlation

c. Regression

After the students are all assigned to their rooms they are given the memory test and scores are determined.

  8. You want to know if you can predict how students will do on the final exam using their scores on exams 1 through 3 and the number of days they have been absent during the semester.
  9. You are studying the effects of environmental enrichment on cortisol levels in rats. You divide your rats into 4 groups: 1. Music and no paper tunnel; 2. Music and paper tunnel; 3. No music and no paper tunnel; 4. No music and paper tunnel. You compare cortisol levels after 2 weeks of exposure.
