• Provide two recommendations for how to manage this case from the perspective of the healthcare organization involved. What could have been done to prevent this situation?

• Recommend next steps to manage this case.

Your report should meet the following structural requirements:

• Be 4-5 pages in length, not including the cover or reference pages.

• Be formatted according to the APA requirements

• Provide support for your statements with in-text citations from a minimum of four (4) scholarly articles.

• Utilize the following headings to organize the content in your work.

Create a 7-8 slide presentation (using PowerPoint or a similar application) to present to the class. While you will not actually do the presentation, your work should be complete enough to present your findings as if you were also assisting the instructor with teaching this module in class. Use the readings, research, and your knowledge of health law and ethics to analyze this case.

Your presentation should address the following substantive requirements:

• Description of what occurred, who was affected, and why

• Assess the case from the following perspectives:

• Ethical - identify the ethical principles involved in this situation from the perspective of all those involved.

• Legal - what are the legal implications and what laws or statutes were involved?

• Provide two recommendations for how to manage this case from the perspective of the healthcare organization involved. What could have been done to prevent this situation?

• Recommend next steps in order to manage this case.

Your presentation should meet the following structural requirements:

• Be 7-8 slides in length, not including the cover or reference slides.

• Be formatted according APA requirements.

• Provide support for your statements with in-text citations from a minimum of four (4) scholarly articles.

• Presentation notes are required for each slide to support the slide content. These can be part of the presentation or delivered as a separate document. If you opt for the former, be aware that the presentation cannot be submitted in PDF format, which does not make notes visible to the instructor.
