Research a variety of media (print, broadcast, social, blogs, film, TV, etc.), taking gender, race, and class into consideration: What kinds of messages are reinforced through media portrayals of women? Who do you find is responsible for these images, and why?

What does media do to hurt how women's bodies/sexuality are viewed (e.g. through violence to trans/women, in video games like Grand Theft Auto, Lara Croft, etc., in depictions of video vixens, in advertising, etc.)?

Alternatively, what is media doing to help combat the negative consequences of these views towards women?

Use examples from the readings, films, video clips studied in class, and include additional research/personal experience.

Provide citations of at least 2 readings in the course or from your own research.
