The past 6 months has increased awareness of the prejudice and systemic racism that continues to exist in our country (and the world). Certainly do not have all the answers, but do know that one person can make a difference. The point of this assignment is to reflect on how change might happen to help Black Americans and other people of color who have lived with bias and prejudice for centuries, then answer the following questions:

Problem a. how have you or your friends/family experienced systemic racism in the past, or currently?

Problem b. if you/family/friends have not experienced it, reflect on why that might be -- what kind of privilege have you been granted and why? in what ways has this influenced your life and accomplishments to date?

Problem c. discuss your thoughts on the recent events that have resulted in protests and violence -- what do you think might help remove the systemic racism that exists for people like (or different than) you? how do you plan to make a difference?
