Task: Psychosocial hazards in the workplace increase the risk of psychological or physical harm, such as work-related stress, anxiety/depression, and musculoskeletal injuries. Technological advancements have brought further psychosocial challenges for workers' health and well-being, with many workers having their working arrangements and conditions significantly affected. Utilising a template, you will prepare an essay comprising two parts:
PART ONE: an essay focusing on one of the four psychosocial health hazards/issues among academic staff (teaching and/or research) in Tertiary Institutions:
- High workload requirements, or
- Poor workplace relationships (e.g., between management and workers or amongst peers), or
- Imbalance between family/personal life and work, or
- Unreasonable work expectations (e.g., unavailable resources to deliver as expected).
PART TWO: A recorded PowerPoint presentation (7 to 8 minutes and 8 slides max) to be presented to the University leadership team. The PowerPoint presentation should offer critical insights and evidence-based recommendations about the best way to mitigate the impact of this hazard among academic staff in Tertiary institutions.
