Some advantages of using TV as a medium for contact lenses is that when advertising for contact lenses consumers like to see the product. It is not necessary in generally but this would be beneficial if they were colored contacts or to highlight the benefit of a different shape in comparison to other brands. Some of the disadvantages would be many of the advertising monies would be wasted on people that do not use contacts or do not need them.
Which media would you recommend to Bausch & Lomb?
I would recommend TV as a medium. I feel as though no other medium has the effectiveness in this space that TV would for his company.
How could Bausch & Lomb test the content for that medium?
Take a accurate inventory and estimate of what production looks like for that product currently. Then, add the media advertisement and compare the numbers over time.
What is one consumer-oriented sales promotion that could complement this medium?
Sampling is a good promotion for not only this medium but also for this product. If at the end of each tv commercial, you added “See your doctor for this item and how you can try it for free”, people are more inclined to ask or inquire about the item and it also helps them get to the doctor.

What kind of consumer-oriented sales promotions options do you think would work best for your uncle?
I think that the best options that would work for this would be coupons, deals, premiums. He can even use a loyalty program with a sweepstakes for a super deal on total renovations.
Ware are the top 3 promotions your would recommend?
The top three promotions I would recommend would be coupons, deals, and premiums, coupons could be good for offering a discount when you use your tax refund. An example being get 15% off when you bring in your tax refund. The other would be deals, this would work in home improvement when purchasing more the one of the same item. Example of this would be; Buy 4 windows get the 5th free. Lastly, I would offer premiums. His would be a large discount on something when buying in bulk like fencing or wood for a deck.
How would your uncle get the word out about this promotions?
For his local business, He could get the word out by using local mailers and possibly a newspaper ad. The mailers would get the word out and offer a place where many different deals could be conveyed in a small advertising medium. The newspaper in this instance would work the same way.
