Problem 1: Rating agencies such as Standard and Poor's and Mood's came under intense pressure during and after the financial crisis due to the fact that many investors felt that the assets these agencies rated were not done properly. Specifically the ratings underestimated the risk of specific assets. This was even a topic in one scene in the movie "The Big Short". What issues, ethical and otherwise might result because the companies pay these agencies to rate their bonds?
