Problem

Lou Holtz, a 87 year old male, presents to your clinic with complaints of persistent cough and shortness of breath for the last 3 weeks that seem to be getting worse. Although you find it difficult to understand his speech, he tells you that he has been traveling a lot because of his job, but finds himself fatigued easily. He denies known sick contacts, but states that he sees his grandchildren whenever he can and that one of them always seems to be sick. He endorses fevers, chills, and night sweats, but states that his cough is non productive. He has not seen a health care provider, but did take a few of a friend's antibiotics that seemed to make him feel better, although briefly. He does not smoke.
