Case: AGB Group is planning to invest heavily on the design of their new smart phone. As business consultants, you are required to prepare a report. Keep in mind the below steps in new product development.

As business consultants of AGB Group, we formulate a new service objectives and strategy for the smartphone of AGB Group. To differentiate the smartphone of AGB Group and its competitors, we have been doing a lot of research for the smartphone industry.

The social media platform is developing rapidly and the function related to the social media will be more and more important in the future. In this era, all of the people at least having a smartphone on their hand, no matter who they are or how old are them. People is more willing to do all the things with their smartphone. Smartphone is the most important tools in this era, people using smartphone to work, chat with friends, ordering food etc. All the activities are inseparable from the smartphone. The smartphone manufacturers are wondering how to make their product to be more attractive to the consumers. DXOMARK is the world-leading quality evaluation laboratory, the table from DXOMARK below is showing more and more people changed to use smartphone to take photo and video instead of digital camera. Because smartphone is more convenient compared to the camaras, smartphone able to let the user takes photo or video immediately to prevent missing out important moments.

The trends of the camara uses made us starts generating on release a consumer product of AGB Group's new series smartphone with upgrading and strengthen the camera system (hardware) of the smartphone and mixture/interact with the software to let our consumer having better experiences on that. As an example, we plan to add in the professional stability camera system to the smartphone and cooperate with the world-famous camera company such as Leica to make the photo or video produced by AGB's smartphone can be more attractive.

TikTok is the leader of short video in social network. The research of Inmar Intelligence is showing more and more people is interested to the short video and they found that there are 70% of online users will watch short videos regularly every day. (Hutchinson, 2022)

When the concept has been developed and tested, final decisions need to be made to move the product to its launch into the market. Pricing and marketing plans need to be finalised and the sales teams and distribution briefed, so that the product and company is ready for the final stage.

This is the stage were you actually manufacture a large amount of the product and start shipping it out to the stores that will sell it.

Or, in the case of an online service, you construct all the web pages, and get your payment system sorted out and ready to respond to inquiries online.

What is your plan for commercialization? How would you like to launch your product in the market ?
What kind of distribution network will be used? Product launching timing, promotion, distribution channels and pricing strategy ?
