Now that you have been introduced to the renaissance design style, it's obvious that the rules are strict, the decor lavish and the theme just plain over-the-top with everything. Perfection, opulence, orderly geometric layout and control was not enough in most cases-precisely a group of high and unattainable standards! Vast expanses of land, terraces and ramparts, endless views, thousands of fountains and leagues of skilled laborers to maintain swirling patterns of tightly clipped shrubbery to ward off natural evils, military applications for security and boundary enhancement all have been translated in some way into the contemporary garden design styles of today.

Rather than search for a garden we have already been introduced to, such as Versailles, Villa Gamberia, Isola Bella, Het Loo, etc. look for contemporary gardens (20th century) that were inspired by these models. Resorts, Sports facilities and Civic memorial sites world wide express accurate examples of renaissance application in their garden design.
