Question: Students will be responsible for reading all assigned materials in advance, thinking about the material, and posting in the Canvas class
discussion every week. There will be a total of three responses required for each discussion question posted.
1.  The first response will be in response to the initial questions asked. This response must be a minimum of 300 words and use at
least one outside source in the answer and one book resource from class. This must be answered by Wednesday of the
corresponding week.
2. The second and third response will be to a peer's responses or instructor's response. This response must be a minimum of 150
words. These must be answered by Sunday of the corresponding week.

When OSHA was enacted in 1970, it was heralded as the most important new source of protection for the U.S. worker in the second
half of the twentieth century. From the information in this chapter and the media links, what is your opinion about the effectiveness or
the ineffectiveness of the act? Should it be expanded, or should businesses have more freedom to determine safety standards for their
workers?
