Case Study: William Harvey is credited with the first publication, Exercitatio Anatomica de Motu Cordis et Sanguinis in Animalibus (1628), proposing the existence and function of the circulatory system. Yet centuries earlier, Moses wrote in Leviticus 17:11, "For the life of the flesh is in the blood..." We often think of the ancient Hebrews as very primitive people, perhaps particularly in context of medicine. This verse actually contains physiology information consistent with discoveries made centuries later. As your study of both pathophysiology and the Bible continues you will likely be more alert to other examples of the accurate scientific information contained within the Bible.
Question:As we wrap this course up, what is your impression- now versus the beginning of the term- of your relationship with God? Do you have even more unanswered questions? Perhaps more doubts about God as your scientific knowledge has increased? Or, have you found the study of pathophysiology, in a crazy way, reinforces your confidence in God and matures your relationship with Him? Perhaps both sides of the coin are normal and desirable in God's view? Other than ignoring the whole thing (the 'easy' way out for many people), what is your next step in investigating an authentic relationship with God?
