Case Study: LGBTQI Lisa is a 32-year-old Trans female who was born male; and named Mark. She came out to her family as gay when he was 18; and had some relationships before becoming involved with her current partner, Wendy. 5 years ago, she began gender reassignment surgery and is still in the process of transition. Although her hair is long, and she has minimal facial hair; and breasts, she still retains some of her "masculine" appearance and has not completed her gender reassignment surgeries. She is 6 feet tall and weighs 200 lbs She presents at the clinic where you are working with a complaint of upper respiratory illness. Her identification uses her identity as "Mark" however she signs in as Lisa. She is wearing a dress and makeup. While in the waiting room, you observe and hear other patients whispering and looking at Lisa. Some of the staff are looking at the chart and questioning her gender. When the Medical Assistant calls out for "Lisa", you hear some remarks being made.
