Problem
When selecting a statistical test, many factors must be taken into consideration. These include the type of study design, the number of comparison groups, and the data type (continuous, dichotomous, or categorical). The statistical test is chosen before the start of the research process to ensure that the test selection is not influenced by the study's findings (Bhalerao & Parab, 2010). For my evidence-based practice proposal I will use independent sample t-test to evaluate if there any difference in aggressive or agitative behavior after music therapy intervention in the NGRI population. The independent sample t-test (or group t-test) is used when the samples usually include independent populations (Liang et al.,2019). A t-test for independent groups can be used when comparing the means of two independent groups. Samples must meet preconditions such as normality, equal variances, and independence because the t-test is a parametric test (Kim,2015). The independent t-test aids in comparing the means of two independent groups to see if there is a statistically significant difference between them (the experimental group would consist of people who received the music therapy intervention, while the control group would be people who did not receive it in my proposed study. In addition, Calculating the probability of finding a difference between sample means in an experiment with the examined sample size is crucial. This calculation is known as the "P" value in statistics. Between zero and one is the value of P. In other words, the difference between the two samples is accurate if the P value is low, and the difference is doubtful to have been created by random sampling. The "P-value" represents the chance of error associated with accepting our observed result as accurate (Kim,2015).

FYI, this is the question for this answer: Identify which statistical test you would use in conjunction with your selected research design from DQ 1 to evaluate the outcomes for your evidence-based project proposal and explain why you selected this test. What kind of information will this test provide about your outcomes?
